Special Thanks To Troop 41 (11/17/15)
Dear Christopher and Boy Scout Troop 41,
Thank you so very much for your generous, professional contribution to the success of our 1st Shred Hunger event.
Please convey our appreciation to your Troop, and to Chris and Pam as well.
The Waterbury CT Teachers Federal Credit Union (WCTFCU) is most grateful for your important support in receiving our Members’ confidential documents for shredding, and their food donations.
Because of your contribution, our Members felt confident turning over their confidential documents to you for insertion into the Shred-it truck.
Without the contribution of Boy Scout Troop 41, we could not have delivered this fine experience for the Teachers and education administrators who are our Members.
Attached please find a photo of the event team.
Final Totals:
As mentioned onsite, we hope you will commit to our 2nd Shred Hunger event, to be held in Middlebury (and in Danbury!) on Saturday, April 16th , 9am – noon.
We have already begun promoting the event to our membership!
With sincere appreciation,
Kathleen

Troop 41 From 1955
Troop 41 Waterville, 1955. The only person I recognize is the young man, far right, 2nd row from bottom, Tom Horan. He was a member of Troop 9 which then became Troop 109, Naugatuck. Tom spent every summer of his scouting life at Camp Mattatuck.
Troop 41 - 1967
This is a picture of Troop 41, the Owl Patrol from the February 1967 Klondike Derby. Picture courtesy of Mr. John Shove.
NAMI Thank You Letter to Troop 41 (1/28/2012)
St. Anne's Fellowship Service Project with Billy Behr (9/11/2011)
Troop 41 did a service project for St. Anne's Church. The troop setup and supplied a Fellowship Breakfast for the patrons of the church. There were well over 100 participants at the breakfast. The Mass was held in rememberance of the victims from 9/11/2001 and to horor Mr. Billy Behr who was the Scout Master for Troop 15 from St Anne's between 1952 and 1964. Mr. Behr is the gentleman on the right side of the picture in the back.
Comments from Mr. Greg Gubitosi (7/31/11)
In the sled picture that Lauren Eastwood refers to I'm the goofy looking guy out of uniform and in a white shirt! To my left is Bruce Manke, to my right is Harry Tata, followed by Lauren's brother ?, David Bilodeau (his dad Adrian was a carpenter and helped us build the sled in his woodshop, Tommy Switz, and ? Some of the camping pictures from the 60's were taken on property that Hugo leased for the troop for $1.00 a year. I wish I could remember where it was! We had lots of great times there!
Mr. Hugo Difederico and Mr. Greg Gubitosi circa 1999-2000
This picture was taken between 1999 and 2000 at the Camp Mattatuck Archery Range. It's a picture of Mr. Hugo Difederico and Mr. Greg Gubitosi. Mr. Gubitosi is an Eagle Scout from Troop 41, (3/27/1967), and is currently the Archery Director at Camp Mattatuck, (7/30/11). Mr. Difederico was the Scout Master of Troop 41 for over 30 years.
Troop 41 Roster from 1965!
Here is another great example of the history behind Troop 41. Pictured below is the roster of Troop 41 from 1965. It was created by Hugo Difederico who was the Scout Master at that time. Mr. Difederico passed away in 2008. Many of us still involved in the troop had the privilege of meeting him. He loved being involved with the troop and helping out. His wisdom, support and kindness will never be forgotten. The picture below the roster shows Mr. Difererico in the center with the troop from Dec. of 2007.
Troop 41 Meets Senior Member of Troop 41!
While performing the flag ceremony at Rowland Park a senior member of the troop introduced himself to the current members. His name is Wendell McKennerney. Back in the day, he was a bugler and an assistant scout master for the troop. Below is a picture of Wendell taken with the troop during the flag ceremony held on June 12, 2010.
Pictures from the 1960's of Troop 41!
Thanks to Mr. Harry Tata Jr. - Troop 41 member
We won first prize for this sled and we won all around for most nuggets the very first Klondike. We also won the second year most nuggets but didn't place anything for sled. I'm not sure of the year. All these photo's are Troop 41; we met at the VFW in Waterville above the Haggerty Drug Store.
The leaders I remember are:
Scoutmaster Hugo DiFederico
Assistant Scoutmaster Gordon (Butch) Burritt ,
Committee Member Mr. Mankey,
Committee Member Edward Gagen Sr.,
Harry F. Tata Sr.,
Adrien Bilodeau,

A Comment from MSgt. Lauren P. Eastwood (USAF Ret)., Troop 41 Member!
"My name is MSgt. Lauren P. Eastwood (USAF Ret). I'm the one with glasses standing next to Harry Tata Jr. in the picture with the sled. I'm one of those rag-tag characters in that picture of the first Klondike Derby. Hatty Tata Jr and I have been friends for many years. Might want to add to the adult leaders Gordon (Butch) Burritt Assistant Scoutmaster, Mr. Mankey Committee Member, Edward Gagen Sr. Committee Member. I would love to hear from you all about what the troop is up too. Have added your web-site to my Scouts folder. Thanks for keeping the spirit of Scouting alive.......I'm still in Boy Scouts as an Assistant Scoutmaster in Kimbolton, Ohio Troop 565."
